Our Mission

For centuries, monumental works of Torah scholarship have remained locked behind the barrier of the Hebrew language — inaccessible to the vast majority of English-speaking learners who yearn to engage with their depth and brilliance.

Aryeh Press was founded to change that. We publish fine classic books on Torah Scholarship that have never been published before with English translation, unlocking the knowledge in these works that have never been available for the interested learner.

Our books feature a unique format of inline translation with elucidatory notes intertwined throughout, designed to assist the reader in following the author's original train of thought without breaking the flow of study.

The Nature of This Work

This volume presents an English elucidation generated through the utilization of frontier Artificial Intelligence models. While rigorously configured to adhere to Orthodox Jewish hashkafa and maintain fidelity to the original Hebrew text, this work is intended solely as an auxiliary tool to assist advanced learners. It is not a replacement for the original Hebrew source. Any practical conclusions in Halacha must be verified by a competent Rabbinical authority.

Aruch HaShulchan — Orach Chaim, Siman 429, Seif 1
Translation A
One should begin studying the laws of Pesach thirty days before the festival. This means that from Purim onward, one should inquire and expound upon the laws of Pesach, as our Sages taught: "We inquire regarding the laws of Pesach thirty days before Pesach." The reason is that Moshe Rabbeinu stood on the first Pesach and taught the laws of the second Pesach, which was thirty days later. From this we derive that one should begin studying the laws of each festival thirty days in advance.

Translation B
We begin to study the laws of Passover thirty days before the holiday. From Purim and onward one must ask about and teach the laws of Passover, as our Rabbis taught that we inquire about the laws of Passover thirty days beforehand. The reason being that Moses our teacher stood at the time of the first Passover and instructed regarding the second Passover, which occurred thirty days later. We learn from here that thirty days before each holiday one should begin studying its laws.
